Subject: [ferrethealth] Lymphoma/Spleen question
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

I took Bandit to the vet today after he dropped weight from 2.4 lbs to
1.5lbs in a week. We xrayed and she said that he has a problem with his
spleen, and our options are:

put him to sleep
do surgery (IF he can get stabalized, rehydrated)
Keep him on pred and keep him comfortable.

She said that his cancer may just spread if we go in. She also said he
probably wouldn't have any more time if we do have his spleen removed. But
then, she mentioned that if he stabalizes, we can do the surgery. That was
confusing. Because for almost the entire appointment she said it would do no good,
but then she came out afterward when we were getting ready to leave and said we
could opt for it if he gets more hydrated.

I have never dealt with spleen lymphoma (not sure if that is what it is
called). Will it buy him more time, possibly, if we take it out?
