The itchy skin should resolve once the adrenal gland disease is under
control. In the mean time you can use topical treatments such as
Relief shampoo and Relief conditioner or Resicort conditioner as needed
to control the itchy skin. Benadryl (orally) can also be used.

(Do be careful because since then I have seen forms of Benedryl that have added meds so only get the plain childhood elixir rather than the one with added meds.)

Long ago (before the post above) when we had one with the problem we rubbed her down with olive oil using a thick towel. It is a royal mess but it really helped her (and was absolutely great for my skin, too -- which is pretty much shades of Ancient Roman bathhouses where they would bath and then oil with olive oil and then remove it with the edge of an instrument).
