Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] Melatonin - When to increase the dosage?
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Problem is that here in Brazil we do not have the same Lupron you have in the USA. And so far the only 2 ferrets that were given this different Lupron have passed away quickly - probably not due to the medication, as they were already very ill, but this leaves us without a parameter to evaluate the treatment. Surgery is still not an option because, although my vet is the best ferret expert (I would say the only expert) in Brazil, very few of them survive to the removal of the 2nd adrenal gland here - some of you will remember of me recently asking about medication to be used post-surgery, thanks a lot. So I´m still afraid of sending a ferret who is doing fine to surgery knowing her chances to survive are not big.My question about increasing the dosage of melatonin is because she is still 5yo, so she may not have much time ahead...Any other ideas? Thanks a lotAlessandra
