Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Deslorelin vs Lupron
Hi Mike and Amanda,
Deslorlin is available in a short acting form
for horses, but the long acting implant is not
FDA approved yet. Thus the implant that we would
use for ferrets is not available here in the US yet.
As Mike said if the ferret does not respond to Lupron
it will probably not respond to the Deslorlin implant either.
What dose of Lupron and melatonin are you using?
Some ferrets only respond to a high dose of Lupron.
Hope that helps,
Jerry Murray, DVM
