Subject: [ferrethealth] postop babyhelp,pt 2

i had posted a few weeks ago about my ferret who had exp. surgury, hairballs found, constant runny stools and grinding teeth. heres where I am to date. We have had him on carafate,famotidine,baytril and then he was put on erythromycin.Nothing really touched the stool problem but his appitite was deceint and he was willing to eat.I took him back to the vets because I noticed although his surgury wound was healing he wasn't re growing any hair where he had been shaved.I ask for a blood glucose test also.The test showed bg@67 and this was also what it was prior to surgury, fasting. So we are assuming he is now dealing with insulinoma.He is on prednisolone .2ml bid.The vet said that this would probably help the stool problem also.Unfortunatly this hasn't happened, his stools are worse, his appetite is diminishing,he scratches alot but he grinds his teeth constantly now, even in his sleep. The vet said maybe surgury was in order to remove part of the pancreas however when he had his expl. surgury a month ago she didn't feel anything. I need advice on how to proceed.Also because he had huge hairballs what, if this is insulinoma, can I give him for hairball prevention.I am feeding him Gerbers 2nd and thinning it with pedialyte. I do not have any experience with insulinoma and have been researching the files but would really appreciate the suggestions ffrom the group. Many thanks...
