Most of the hairball medications I have seen have a lot of
sugars in them, often in the form of malt syrup. So I would
check ingredients before giving hairball remedy to a ferret
with insulinoma (if that is what is going on with this
ferret). When I have had ferrets with insulinoma, I used
plain vasoline as hairball remedy. They liked the taste of it
just as much as the other stuff, so it was just as easy to
feed them.
