Subject: [ferrethealth] Bandit update
To: "ferrethealth@smartgroups.com" <ferrethealth@smartgroups.com>

Bandit passed away in his sleep on Friday morning. We had been giving him
pred, and sub q fluids to make him well enough for surgery to remove the
tumor or mass, as well as feeding high calorie Deliver 2.0 and regular
ferret food. The vet did an autopsy and found it was an inoperable 6cm
insulinoma tumor. She said it was wrapped around his stomach and other
organs and that it was very rare to have one so big. Is that very unusual?

She also said at that stage all we could do was either put him to sleep or
make him comfortable or do surgery (*we were going to next week because he
was finally rehydrated enough). She also took pictures. I can get them in
digital format, if there are vets or people out there that archive that
sort of thing.

Thanks to everyone on the list that answered my questions and who gave me
their support off list. I appreciate all of you.
