Subject: [ferrethealth] Green Bay, WI Area Help Still Needed
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com
Hi, everyone,
A huge thank you to Summer for posting for me when I
was offline. I'm the person who has moved to
northeastern Wisconsin (a little north of Green Bay)
with my ferrets. The various ferret vet lists show a
number of vets in the Milwaukee and Madison areas but
none in the Fox Cities or anywhere else in the
northern part of the state.
I'd like to ask for two things: If you use a vet in
the Milwaukee area and have had really good
experiences, particularly with surgeries and treatment
of geriatric conditions, please e-mail me with a
personal recommendation off list.
I'd also like recommendations in the Green Bay and
Appleton area if possible. Several vets advertise
that they treat exotics in Green Bay. Does anyone
have experiences to share, good or bad? Again, please
write me off list. Even a vet for routine things
close by would be good. I'd also like to know if the
one emergency clinic I see listed (Packerland) is any
good with ferrets.
I am particularly concerned about Ella, who is showing
on again and off again adrenal symptoms. If this is,
as I expect, a recurrence of adrenal she'd be having
her right gland out and would be bilateral afterwards.
I'd like to know of a Wisconsin (or nearby UP
Michigan) vet who does a good job with right
adrenalectomies and post op treatment of bilateral
ferrets.
Nyssa, who may just see her eighth birthday this
spring, has been fighting lymphoma for more that a
year. On three occasions I though her time had come
but outstanding ferret vets in North Carolina and Ohio
adjusted her treatment and medication and have
continued to give her quality time. An experienced
vet who can pull off such minor miracles would be
great to have.
Again, any help in choosing the right vet(s) would be
gratefully appreciated.
All the best,
Caity and the fabulous four
