Subject: [ferrethealth] cheap processed ferret food
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

The USA has a huge problem with insulinoma, adrenal disease and lymphoma.
These diseases were pretty rare in the UK, but now they are starting to appear at an
alarming rate.

I only have 2 ferrets, just over 4 years old, and one has insulinoma and adrenal and
the other adrenal with suspected lymphoma.

I now strongly feel that cheap processed ferret biscuits are primarily to blame. Their
ingredients are the dregs of the meat industry. I think if I had fed them good quality
human grade raw meat, these cancers would not have appeared. I feel very very sad
the pet owners are lead to believe that 'ease of use' ferret biscuits are the best for
their pets.

I was just wondering what you all think to this opinion. Am I just a guilt striken
parent who is trying to find something to blame for the poor health of her ferrets?
