Subject: [ferrethealth] Bone Marrow Transplant Help needed TODAY
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

I tried this before and it is somewhere in cyber space.

we have a 12 mth old, at 9%, he was exposed to a toxic, with transfusion he went up
to 17%, added epogen went to 32%, now he is back down to 9%.

Doc needs to know how much, is there a carrier, the whole routine. I left a message
on a couple of vets answering machines last night.

Please call either me and I will write down the instructions, 216/749-36885,or the
cell 440/465-4110 or the shelter's vet Dr. Krupka at Avon Lake Animal Clinic,
440/933-5297.

Doc's surgery day is today, and he wont be doing any until after the holidays, and if
we do this as an emergency, the clinic he works for well, won't be so friendly in the
bill department I am afraid.

Please help. I will be leaving here in about 30 minutes, taking Nemo and two big
boys to him, please, help him.

Doc will do what ever he can, but he has never done this before in a ferret, and he is
the ONLY vet in this area that I trust even trying.

I have spent days researching and found nothing, or bits and pieces of things, which
doesn't help.

I have had others doing the same, only to find the same stuff I have.

I don't know what else to do. This little boy was adopted by a man who in the past
6 months lost his parents, a brother, and his wife. This little boy has given him
some hope, now because he was told that Hartz was a safe product to use on a
ferret, (by another vet in this area) he may loose him.

I just can't see letting Nemo die without trying or letting this man's first glimps of
happiness die.

Please, even call collect, I don't care, I will pay for it. I will pay for any vet fees for
consult.

please.

[This post is somewhat outside the rules by including the vet's contact info, but is
an extreme emergency, and as a shelter it is likely that her vet is listed in shelter
lists. The other moderators were offline so I am going to make an exception due to
extreme extenuating circumstances and due to Smartgroups having been mostly
crashed the last few days making it impossible for her to ask earlier. It is virtually
always more effective for vet to vet discussions to take place.--SDC]
