There actually may or may not have been differences in rates with
these diseases, and the diseases themselves differ.
Even now there are cases of adrenal disease or insulinoma which are
missed by vets who do not expect to encounter them.
There is no indication that lympho was less encountered in one of
those locations over the other.
Insulinoma rates might differ, BUT no one has hard numbers for
insulinoma rates ANYWHERE. It might just be discussed more here.
There are past posts on insulinoma and diet hypotheses are in the FHL
Archives and will be of interest. See
http://ferrethealth.org/archive/
Our own rate over 25 years for all pancreatic tumors combined that we
have encountered, i.e. insulinoma disease beta cell tumors PLUS
pancreatic tumors from lymphoma and carcinoma -- just in case the
ferrets might also have had insulinoma -- has been about 20%. We
feed kibbles but we do not give starch treats and for the most part
also avoid sweet treats.
You will want to read JEMM&S, volume 2.2, Dec 2004, By Dr Mark
Finkler with the hypothesis that high carbohydrate levels might
affect the rate of insulinoma. His article is a good read!
Here are some suggested fact and research based past vet posts:
http://ferrethealth.org/archive/browse.php?msg=SG11864
http://ferrethealth.org/archive/browse.php?msg=SG8377
and there are others
Adrenal disease rates may have differed due to another difference in
husbandry. In the archives, please, see past posts on adrenals and
darkness, or adrenals and melatonin. In 25 years we have had I guess
two who had adrenal tumors at 5 years of age or younger. We also had
one ferret who had his adrenal removed prophylactically because they
were so badly inflamed by irritation from neighboring kidneys which
had hydronephrosis that nearly claimed him. The others here have all
been older. Our rate for adrenal disease in our household is about
1/3, most with only one adrenal involved. We provide a lot of
complete darkness for our ferrets.
Also vet info from the Archives:

http://ferrethealth.org/archive/browse.php?msg=YG9845
http://ferrethealth.org/archive/browse.php?msg=YG9239
http://ferrethealth.org/archive/browse.php?msg=YG5778
There are marvelous articles by vets and by Mike Janke in
http://www.miamiferret.org/fhc
and if you can get back issues of "Ferrets Magazine" there are some
vet articles in those which you will want to read.
