Dr. Debbie Kemmerer Cottrell helped this procedure take place by providing help over the phone.
For people's records and the FHL archives here is some marrow transplant information that Dr. Cottrell provided:
The procedure followed is the same as the one for doing a bone marrow biopsy except that 1/4 cc of marrow is taken from one and put into another.
Dr. Cottrell also noted that this is not an emergency procedure because the new marrow can not produce red blood cells for at least a few days.
