Subject: [ferrethealth] questions on low potassium levels
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

I was just looking up causes of low potassium levels for someone and
noticed that taking insulin is in the list. Can insulinoma ever
cause low potassium levels? Has anyone looked at potassium levels in
renal disease in ferrets since that can be a cause in humans? Do
diseases like IBD result in low potassium levels in ferrets like they
can in humans? The only discussion of low potassium levels among
ferrets that I can recall offhand is in relation to the use of
diuretics.
