Subject: [ferrethealth] Ferret with Bad Breath

I remember reading somewhere and I thought it was on the FHL, that bad breath in ferrets can be an early sign of a serious illness. Our shelter Mom requested this question, because she has one at the shelter that seems fine, teeth were checked out as fine, but has extremely bad breath all the time.
Can anyone give me any thought on this???
