Is this like a water balloon?
Heart disease can almost never be found in ferrets by just listening.
Needed: x-ray or ultrasound of chest (if hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is suspected or testing shows evidence of heart disease then an xray is not enough and an ultrsound is needed).
CBC with Chemistry Panel (not just a plain CBC).
It would not hurt to check specific gravity of urine.
Look for things like heart disease, kidney disease, lympho, etc. that can cause ascites.
