Hello again,

I was able to get Fria in today to take another look at what is going
on. Her heart and lungs sounded good again, so we went ahead and did an
x-ray to see if that told us more. There does not appear to be any
fluid in her abdomen. The vet explained that fluid in her abdominal
cavity would appear very white on the x-ray, which it was not. We could
see her organs clearly, including her enlarged spleen. Her heart
appeared to be normal in size, but the vet thought it seemed irregular
in shape. It was almost perfectly round, which she said could indicate
fluid surrounding the heart, in the pericardial sac, or that it could be
Dilated Cardiomyopathy. I was really surprised that we didn't find her
abdomen filled with fluid, but there is obviously SOMETHING going on, we
just need to figure out what it is.

She did not give us any definite answers, though, until we can see what
an ultrasound might tell us. She just wanted to start with an x-ray in
hopes of giving us a better idea of what is going on, but it couldn't
give us quite enough information. She does not have the equipment to do
an ultrasound, so she is referring us to another vet to have it done.
We'll be setting up an appointment with the him as soon as my vet can
discuss things over with him, which will be within the next few days.

I was able to bring the x-ray along home, so I'm hoping I can scan it
and be able to share it with you all. There was one thing that was
visible on the x-ray that she could not identify, that we are hoping
will be more visible during the ultrasound. I don't think I could even
begin to explain where it was located without thoroughly confusing
everyone, but it was near her left kidney. Hopefully I can get a good
scanned copy of it to upload to the Pictures section.

I also have Fria's bloodwork results from back in November that I had
scanned which I put in the Jen's Ferrets album that I made.
