I have a 2 year old ferret named Skunk (we call her doodlebug) She has very suddenly lost about half her bodyweight and she is not eating and not going to the bathroom as often as she should. We took her to the vet yesterday and they suggested possibly feeding her with an eyedropper and suggested some vitamins, which we got and she has been eating the vitamin supplement but doesnt seem to be getting any better. She takes a few steps and falls over and lays in the floor. She was a very active ferret and we let the girls out every night for a few hours and we take such good care of them that we cannot figure out how we missed that she was losing that much weight, this has all happened in about three days. i was reading about a disease called disseminated idiopathic myositis and I am afraid that she has all the symptoms mentioned except i havent noticed any enlarged external lymph nodes. I am very scared that we are going to lose her. Please advise...Amy Babus
