Subject: [ferrethealth] RE: Low red cell blood count
FYI:
BOTH males and females produce and use BOTH estrogens and androgens. In fact, the hormones can be changed back and forth to each other by the body. Androgens have dozens of known uses in the body, while estrogens have hundreds -- even being used to help a person's brain function properly no mater what the gender.
Adrenal disease in ferrets is USUALLY hyperestrogenic (rather than Cushingoid), in fact, that also contributes to prostate enlargement in male ferrets.
