Hi Nanny,
The Gerber Stages (Stage 2) that people talk about is either only
chicken or only turkey, with water for processing. The food you're
talking about is not good for ferrets because of the vegetable matter
and probably has added sugar and or salt.
A cheaper way out is to get turkey or chicken thighs, boil them
skin and all, then put the meat with cartilage and skin through a
grinder or food processor. Mix it with your ferrets dry kibble that's
been ground as well and use the water you boiled the meat in as the
liquid to make it soupy. There's no waste and any nutrients boiled
out of the meat is put back in by using that stock.
I feed my ferrets this twice a day in addition to their kibble and
they are all huge with soft silky coats.
