Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Diabetes and Kidney failure
Suggestions on diet for acute kidney failure? Right now Bear is eating ground up chicken at the vet, his usual diet.
New kidney values from the last few days:
Wednesday: BUN & Creatinine down from first values. Creatinine down from 5.6 to 4.6 since yesterday. Eating from syringe, on IV fluids. Electrolytes near normal.
Thursday: Bad numbers today. BUN at 100, Creatinine UP to 7. (Strange.) Activity, alertness, & appetite improving, urine still dilute. Electrolytes normal. Glucose normal.
Friday: Numbers back down. BUN down to 74, Creatinine down to 4.4. Activity level good; alert, cuddling, eating on his own and licking gravy off fingers, drinking, fussing with IV on his leg. Was moved to a normal cage (from the incubator) because he tried to "escape"... typical weasel!
