Subject: [ferrethealth] Adrenal?
Dear All,
Tigger started losing hair on his back last summer. I was worried it might be
adrenal so he had an x-ray last September (05) which showed nothing wrong with
his adrenals. He also had a full blood profile which the vet said was
'remarkably normal'. He had slightly low albumen but vet said nothing to worry
about esp. if he'd not recently eaten, low white blood cells - also not
abnormal. She ruled out insulinoma, liver, kidneys. His phosphurus and
platelets were okay. Advice was to leave him as he was.
He's since started acting slightly more aggressively, often clamping the girls
necks and not letting them move.
Gut instinct tells me it's adrenal and that I should submit him for an
adrenalectomy. The vet said we can't get Lupron or Melatonin in the UK.
I would be very grateful for any advice.
Regards,
Susan
