Subject: [ferrethealth] sick ferret?
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

I noticed Saturday that my two year old, Mojave, had bird seedy diarrhea. He now seems to have lost some weight and although he plays it's not to the level it was.
I haven't switched foods so it can't be that he's getting too much protein because he's never had this problem before.
I don't know if this has anything to do with this but my ferrets have been drinking a lot of water the past couple of weeks, but I assumed it was because of the dry air from the heater. I have also noticed that they (or he) haven't been eating as much lately as they normally do.
My other ferret who is about 7 years old has been having bird seed poop off and on for awhile now. The vets have no idea of what is causing this but because she seems very healthy otherwise they and I are just monitoring it.
Could he maybe have caught something from her? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
