Subject: [ferrethealth] Adrenal Disease limiting walking ability
To: <ferrethealth@smartgroups.com>
Hi, I seem to recall that there was some information regarding treatment for bone loss /weakness due to adrenal problems. Tasha, my 9 year old has had adrenal problems for 4 years and I have posted about her before. About every other day I fear she is going to give up and stop eating. She will have a bad one or two days and then she will try for me again and get better. I keep wondering if her legs were stronger if her limited bowel /bladder control would improve. She is pretty wobbly and falls over quite a bit. Now my other older albino (as she is a rescue, I am really only certain that she is 5 or older) with adrenal problems is having the same problem with walking, wobbling and falling over which I just noticed tonight and must be why she has not wanted to get up for any longer than 5 minutes for several days . Does anyone know what I can do to make their lives easier at this point? I vaguely recall many months ago when I first joined that I saw something that could be done I just can't remember what it was. I am three hours from Seattle in a rural community. Although my vet is excellent he is not a ferret specialist.
Thanks for your help. Kathleen (and Tasha, Mia, Little Bear, Kosmo, Bookker and Pandy)
