Subject: [ferrethealth] Need help with diagnoses
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

I have a 16 month old male- Marshall's. From the time he was 6 weeks old, he has
been sick. The store vet opened him up 2x, found greatly enlarged lymph nodes, both,
biopsied them and found nothing, she said, and went on to diagnose him with
Gastroenteritis. He has since continued to show symtoms of intermittant diarrhea,
vomiting, and gagging. There is no blockage, and his bloodwork seems fine. His lymph
nodes swell, and with antibiotics will get better, but there seems to be no rhyme or
reason I can find for this. Pred worked for a short time, but now he is sick again. He
has dropped weight, from 3.8 to 2.6 over a 2 month time period, although we are
moving into Spring now, I am concerned. He is very happy, and plays just fine, and
doesn't seem in any distress. He eats fine, is not dehydrated..just this constant chronic
issue my vet can't seem to pin down. Any suggestions? Thanks- Gerri
