Subject: [ferrethealth] Tummy Problems...
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

I had posted this yesterday, but it never made it.

My Nikki Taur is being treated for tummy troubles. He has had 2 surgeries since Dec 15th, so the stress of the surgeries and the physical symptoms all added up. Have also done x-rays and all looks well there, no blockages of any kind.

This is the regimen my vet has put him on for (14 days)

1/8 tablet of Metronidazole every 12 hours
0.4 cc Amoxicillin every 12 hours
1/8 tablet pepcid every 12 hours.

All 3 of the above meds are taken at the same time.

He also takes .05 cc of Sulcrate every 12 hours. The Sulcrate must be taken 4-6 hours after the above 3 meds, so all meds work to their fullest potential.

I've read in a few places that the above regimen is recommended for 30 days and not 14. Is this true?

Today, Monday, the 6th is Nikki's 3rd day of treatment, at what point will the teeth grinding stop? I just want my sweet cheeks to start feeling better :) The teeth grinding really concerns me.
