Although it is hard to say for sure, this type of
seizure activity is commonly seen in ferrets with low
blood sugar (insulinoma). The weight loss, wobbly
stance etc are also signs of insulinoma. In recent
years this pancreatic condition has been widely
documented in ferrets usually 4 years of age and
older.
There will be numerous readings if you search the FHL
archives.

I am sorry for your loss. Had you taken the ferret to
a ferret knowledgeable vet?
