My ferret Nash has also been placed on almost this regimen- for suspected ulcers.
he takes Prednisone..... .2 mls (suspended at this time)
Metronidazole.. .1 mls with the tip of the syringe dipped in a
Omeprazole paste.
Carafate... .15 cc 2x a day
Amoxicillin... .25 cc 2x a day

I was highly doubtful about this- as this is about the 10th treatment we have tried
with him, for the gastrintestinal which has been ongoing with him sine he has been
small, however, to my new vet's credit, so far it does seem to be haveing a positive
effect. The vomiting and choking behaviors have defintely lessened- she has
withdrawn the pred at this time to see if he is able to get by without it- if not he
goes back on it. The teeth grinding has ceased entirely after one week of treatment-
but that includes the Carafate. I am waiting to see long term, but he is getting relief
for now.

[Moderator's Notes: Readers should remember that dosing changes with weight,
disease, etc., also that in medicines that have multiple concentrations available the
ml/cc level does not provide information on how much medication is being given,
the mg level does, but that does not matter in this particular discussion, anyway.]
