Subject: [ferrethealth] Pedialite - Good or Bad?

Question: Giving him an unlimited bowl of Pedialite in addition to his unlimited bowl
of water and letting him choose what he wants to drink.
Good, Bad, OK but there are some cautions in using Pedialite. I know there has been
some discussion about flavored vs. unflavored. Personally, I think he could use any
additional calories at this point.
As everyone knows, Teddy and I are waging full out war against eosinophillic
gastroenteritis. Keep in mind that he has gone from a huge (4-5 lb, 24 inches long)
German/American mix to a 1lb 10 oz skeleton with hair so we may be going to
attempt some things that are only done when things are desperate.
Also, as we have been trying to get a correct diagnosis over the past several
months, there have been at least 3 times when he has had to be hospitalized for a
week at a time due to dehydration. So we are looking at death vs. throwing in
everything including the kitchen sink.
Not like it is feasible but there should be a "Ferret Trust" to help all of us with $$$$
vet bills ;)
