Subject: [ferrethealth] Pleural Effusion Update

After a dramatic turnaround last weekend with Jerrie and the Essiac Tea, my hopes
of having her with me a little longer was short lived. Wednesday she quit eating and
started having trouble breathing again. I took her back to the vet Thursday to have
her chest tapped again. To my horror she drew 60cc of fluid from her chest that was
bright red.(first tap was 20cc and blood tinged)She did not respond well this time,
even with oxygen, so I finaly let her go. We think her spleen ruptured. She gave her
an injection to put her to sleep, and I held her like I always do and she looked at me
as if to say thank you mom, I love you. She left us alone about 20 minutes to say
good-bye. I didn't. I told her I would see her again when it was my turn. I thanked
her for giving me so much joy and happiness the past 10yrs. When the vet came
back in to see her, she was laying on my chest like she always did, sleeping
peacefuly, oblivious to any pain, and breathing easy. I gave her to her wraped in her
blanket and when she brought her back she was gone. She looked so peaceful. She
was such a Trooper, and will be missed dearly. I burried her in the front garden next
to her cage mate of 10yrs that passed 6 months ago of old age.
Thank you to all who gave me information and have sent kind words to help me
through this. Your support is apreciated dearly.
