Subject: RE: [ferrethealth] RE: Adrenal ferret now in congestive heart failure? Please help...long post
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

We started him on lasix according to dosage for ferrets from VIN. This Thurs
AM we are going to do an ultrsound of his heart. As of this morning he
seemed more comfortable than the last two days, though his breathing is
still fast and heavy. What's hard for me is that back in Oct we were looking
at his heart by ultrasound, for a comparison with another ferret of my mine
that wasn't doing so well (he is gone now due to liver failure of unknown
reason). At that time the heart seemed to be working well, so this is all
kind of sudden for me. Our plan is to continue the clavamox in case of an
URI and continue the lasix. We will look at enalapril and digoxin based on
our findings this thurs. I am happy knowing he is doing a little better
today, and will continue to enjoy everyday I have with him, no matter how
few or numerous that may be.

Thanks for the kind words,
Amanda and Edgar (and Missy too, Edgar's lady)
