Quick note: Giving heavy cream to one of ours who had severe IBD turned out to be the biggest mistake we ever made in his illness. You know how some ferrets can't deal with dairy products well? In his case that turned out to include even the heaviest cream, and he came close to dying that week. Ferrets with GI tract illnesses can turn out to have some powerful sensitivities, so if trying a different food try just a touch of it and be very aware and wary. Notice from reading about Scooter that some can't deal with any poultry, and from reading about RinkyDink that some of these patients can't deal with some red meats. These individuals vary, so try things, but try them carefully and in tiny amounts if a ferret has IBD or EGE, always watching, keeping notes, and being tentative.
