For a ferret who has no trouble with dairy intolerance there is no reason to not give it as both a treat and a source of nutrition. For some reason diet is one of those areas where popular non-rigorous resources tend to engage in more myth than fact -- leading to a range of unfounded "cautions" and "benefits".
I suggest that anyone wanting further diet information, please read the FHL Archives at

for information ad nauseum on benefits, risks, approaches, recipes, etc.
