Subject: [ferrethealth] Administrative Note about diet discussions right now
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com
Moderation Note:
I am starting to be sorry that I ever approved one of these posts because the discussion is drifting into an area that has way too much of a tendency to bury other topics and bury moderators in work.
Besides, diet and the risks of raw vs. cooked (Each has potential upsides and each has a combination of potential downsides or risks and upsides so I will trust list members to use the FHL Archives at
http://ferrethealth.org/archive/
to learn those.
I have approved two replies that were in the moderation line up because both posters are telling how they saved some very ill ferrets and each is using a new twist on that topic, but any further replies to the diet discussion will need to either be from veterinarians or those with equivalently applicable doctorates, or contain actual documentation such as peer reviewed research studies. *No opinion only comments* after today on this topic because it is just too soon after this discussion last came up, the topic tends to always get out of control in the replies, I have only so much time which makes a diet discussion workload impossible now, and Smartgroups is still being repaired so overloading it with a topic that is well covered already would be cruel.
On the other hand, comments from the experts such as veterinarians, or URLs of peer reviewed studies can be of great help to list members so are welcome.
I am sorry about being so strict about what won't be rejected on this topic, but right now is a really, really bad time to have the personal opinions on diet discussion topic come up again, so I have to be strict this time. Thanks for understanding.
