That is unnecessary and a potential cause of problems:
1. fire hazard
2. ferrets overheat easily

Some ferrets' body temperatures do drop a lot in sleep, and then on waking they shiver to regain heat. Is this when you are encountering the shivering. If not, please, give more information.
