My two ferrets cage is in an unheated room (-5 C. outdoor temp at night in the past few days).
They sleep in a kind of padded igloo sold for cats with two or three old woolly jumpers in it and they arrange it themselves and cover themselves with as many layers as they choose, of course being two of them they also cuddle up together. In summer they lie on top of their bedding with just their heads covered and even in the hottest weather they may shiver for a few seconds when waking and may not shiver in winter.
If you give them sufficient bedding they will use what they need.
