Subject: [ferrethealth] room too warm for ferrets?
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Do any of you have experience with just how warm is too warm for a ferret's
room? We are moving to a single family house from a townhouse in June/July.
As it is cold now, it is hard to tell how warm their upstairs room will be, but
it is in an older house and when we bought it last September it seemed like
their room was warm. Renters are in it now, but they don't use the upstairs. I
am thinking of getting a window A/C unit professionally installed just to be
safe, but was wondering if slightly warm is a risk factor for ferrets. It is
ideal to keep them in a cool room? Right now, they are in a basement bedroom
which is perfect because it stays cool. In the new house, we won't have a
chance - they will have to be in the upstairs bedroom. Also, is anyone aware as
to whether there is any problem using a window A/C unit so long as it is
securely installed?
Thanks, Lisa and the treasured trio (Lily, Bridget & Clementine)
