Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] room too warm for ferrets?
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Hi Lisa,

I used to live in an unairconditioned house. It got really warm in late
August. I had lots of tall trees to keep it pretty cool.

During the hotest times, I would put the ferret in the cage and place her in
the cooler part of the house and put a fan on her while I went to work. She
was fine.

You can also put a ziploc bag with some ice and water in it and wrap it in a
hand towel and put it in the bed. They will lay on that when they get hot.

You did not say where you live, I am assuming it is in the north east since
you do not have air for the rest of the house. But getting a room
airconditioner would be nice for them, especially since they are used to a more even
climate.

Kathy. and bianca
