Dear Sukie:
Can you post this one:
Dear Lisa:
Hemangiosarcomas are low-grade malignancies whose behavior is often
closely related to the tissues that they are found in. In the ferret,
they may be found in equal numbers in the spleen and the skin in
ferrets. Hemangiosarcomas in the spleen and liver, due to the
sponginess of this organ, tend to invade widely and get into the
bloodstream and metastasize to other organs.
In the skin, however, due to the compact fibrous nature of this organ,
they tend to invade much more slowly, and rarely metastasize. Bottom
line is that if you had it completely excised, chances are that it will
not trouble your further.
With kindest regards,
Bruce Williams, DVM
