Hi, Sukie, and everyone else,

I am not surprised one little bit. Keith and I were
having dinner and Ryo-Ohki managed to get up onto the
table (amazing in itself) and steal a very hot pepper
from me (a serrano, I think). We thought this would
teach her a lesson. She bit in once, looked up at us
with a funny look on her face, did the same again, and
then promptly wolfed down the whole pepper and came
back looking for more.

We watched her poop and there were no ill effects we
could see. Needless to say we never let Ryo near hot
peppers again. I grow fiery habaneros, serranos,
tabascos, jalapenos, etc... I'd be very much afraid
of the consequences of a little weasel eating a bunch
of those.

Oh, an no, Ryo-Ohki didn't act like she was burned.
She actually decided she liked hot peppers. I'd
caution everyone to watch ferrets near hot foods.

All the best,
Caity and the fantastic four
(Nyssa, Ella, Zephyr, and Chin Soon)
