Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] my ferret has got warty type lumps

I have a ferret who also has this, the pads look like they have warty
looking calluses on them that sometimes crack? I treated it with
vaseline and although it softened the calluses some, it didn't go
away. They don't seem to bother him, just me.

My vet said that it was hyper keratosis (and I'm sure I've got the
spelling off on that!) but that it was nothing to worry about. She
said the body over produces the cells for the feet pads and once the
good weather hits and he can go out into the outside enclosure, he'll
wear them down.
