Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] Double surgery on ferret, is this ok?
Hello Julie,
I have had numerous ferrets in the shelter which had
the same surgical procedure all recovered well. You
should have a biopsy of the spleen to find out what
the cause is.
In all my years I have only seen 3 reasons for
splenomegaly-- as the result of low grade chronic
infection, lymphoma or cystic spleen. Hopefully
yourt ferrets is form the first-- in which case I hope
your vet will also treat with an antibiotic!
Best wishes--
