Subject: [ferrethealth] update on Tufts chemo treatment
Chaucer is still doing well on the Tufts chemo protocol at week 16.
The last drug we used, Procarbazine, really did its job! This drug is
giving orally for 2 weeks. After about 10 days on it, Chaucer had a
couple bad days when he didn't eat well, but his appetite has
improved a bit. About that time, I noticed a significant decrease in
the size of his tumors.
And the shrinking continues, even though he's been off the drug since
Monday. Today the tumor on his jaw is ALMOST GONE!!!
His white blood cell did take the biggest hit since he started chemo,
but not enough to reduce the amount of drugs he gets.
My vet and I wonder why they don't start with this drug!
