Subject: [ferrethealth] Oral Melatonin
Has anyone ever used oral melatonin and then stopped? Will anything bad ha=
ppen? When my Rocky lost some hair on his tail, I started giving him melat=
onin just in case it was adrenal disease. The hair grew back less than 2 m=
onths after starting melatonin, so I don't know if the melatonin did it, or=
it was just rat tail and would've grown back anyway. On melatonin, Rocky =
sleeps a lot and is not as active as he used to be. He's more active if I =
give less. Also, it is not always easy to be home at 3 PM and since he sho=
ws no other signs of adrenal disease, I don't feel I need to go the implant=
route. I would like to stop giving him melatonin. He is 5 yrs. old and he=
althy so far. Just wanted to know if stopping will affect him negatively i=
n any way. thanks!
