Subject: [ferrethealth] absess on throat area

We have a male ferret who has had an absess on his neck for over 18 months. Our vet has operated 3 times to remove this without success due to the area that the absess is in. He has been treated with several different antibiotics including amoxacilin,Synulox, Intradine and also steroids. Thes seem to clear the infection for a few weeks but then his neck swells again and the process starts all over. I think our vet has given up and is not sure what else he could do. Other than the swelling, he is a fit and lively animal with no other ailments. Could you suggest what course of action we could now take to try and free our ferret of this problem.
