Subject: [ferrethealth] Update on Missy (poss ECE)
As of now I am feeding her chicken baby food diluted with pedialyte every 4 hours. I also started her on amoxi. I have carafate and pred and kaolin pectin in case I need to begin those as well. I also have a bag of LRS to give SQ fluids as necessary. As of now she does not appear to be dehydrated, and she got very pissy with me when I tried to give her fluids earlier. I took that as a good sign.
Missy is still very lethargic and has no desires to play. She is not eating on her own, and drinking very little. The diarrhea has gotten worse, though I expected that to happen. It is now a pastel green color, and very runny/slimy. I guess all I can do now is wait.
I have not taken her temp, as I didn't want to stress her too much. I will if she appears to get worse.
Please keep us in your thoughts. I have lost two ferrets in the last six months, and would never forgive myself if something happened to Missy cause I brought in new fuzzies. I appreciate any advice you have for us. I will keep you posted.
