Subject: [ferrethealth] Lymphoma lumps??? overnight
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

My ferret Nilla just got over helicobacter, and she's been on carafate for
about a month, got her weight back up, and now, after she just finished
with that disease, we found a huge lump the diameter of a nickel rock hard
under her arm but not where the lymph nodes are, just above them. We got
her in for an appointment and the vet only found that lump. Then she went
in for surgery the next morning. During the night she had grown another
lump the same size in her abdomen.

Does this sound consistent with Lymphoma and also, what options are
available. I do not know how much chemotherapy runs. I am in Michigan. I
know it will vary but I want to hear from someone who has done it or
offers it - please...and also, the vet said that with steroids she might
go into remission. We are doing a histopath. Should I ask to start on the
steroids during the time I'm waiting for the histopath? Also, the vet said
that she only took out the tumors to test them - is it not good to remove
them when they are lymphoma or is it just impractical???
