There are varying opinions on what glucose level is indicative of insulinoma. I believe few ferret knowledgeable vets would consider 65 mg/dL to be a normal glucose level but more likely an indication of insulinoma.
Fasting vs. non-fasting glucose levels is kind of a tricky question. In a healthy ferret, fasting should return a normal glucose reading. In a ferret with insulinoma, fasting would result in a lower glucose reading, which is why many recommend not fasting a ferret suspected of having insulinoma and possibly triggering a hypoglycemic episode.
