Hi Melanee,

Suzanna is right--Dr. Weiss is still using laser for his sugeries and still
advocates for the use of newer better technology for animal surgeries.

The recovery time is quicker, and less painful for the ferret and it allows
the vet to be more precise while inside their tiny little bodies! He has
some information up on his site to explain it (along with a link to Accuvet
that has even more info for you).

I do not want to go against board rules, so feel free to contact me if you
want to discuss further since my ferrets have had personal experience with
both his scalpel and laser surgeries. In my opinon, they recovered MUCH
quicker and felt better in the few days post-op than previous, less invasive
surgeries.
