Subject: [ferrethealth] Insulinoma issue now, please any help would be appreciated
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com
We have another issue with a different Ferret. This is my Allie Boy. He was
diagnosed with Insulinoma right at a year ago. We decided to treat it with
medication. He is on prednisolone right now 0.25 once a day. Last friday he had
a sugar crash, got him stable again, and we uped the pred. to 0.25 twice a
day. I took him back to the vet today to have his glucose checked and it was at
40. Which I thought this was odd considering it he took his med. 2 hours
before the vet visit.
My vet and I are doing research on what should be an correct dosage amount
and if there is another med that would work better.
Do you have any suggestions on what to increase the prednisolone to or if
another medicine might work better?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
