I take it they use a different test for ferrets than the one for mink as we
had a lot of positive results that never became ill from the early CIEP
tests done here in the UK. Our main problem is that our working ferrets are
in contact with feral mink and test positive to the mink strains of the
Aleutian Virus. Since we moved to the ELISA type test our positive to
negative ratio has dropped from 1in 20 to 1 in 100. I don't think any club
member has lost a ferret to ADV in the last 5 years. Chris.
